Detroit took some hits during the pandemic, with a host of restaurants and bars closing.
Now, comes the upside.
After being shut for three years, Northern Lights Lounge at 660 W. Baltimore, in the shadow of the Fisher Building in Detroit's New Center area, plans to reopen Friday, May 26 at 6 p.m. for Movement Weekend, the bar announced on Facebook.
"Beginning Tuesday, May 30 we will be open for business seven days a week with full kitchen service," the posting said." It’s been three long years, and we are SO ready to hang out again with all our friends and neighbors."
Meanwhile, Waffle Café Detroit plans to open Thursday, June 1 at 18685 Livernois Ave. It moves into a space previously occupied by Lana's Bake Shop.
The website boasts of "45 varieties of savory and sweet waffles including gluten free and vegan options."
