Don't cry for Ford Motor Co. CEO Jim Farley.

Sure, he missed some company objectives, so his 2024 compensation package dropped by 6.1 percent. As a result, his compensation was only about $24.9 million, according to the Detroit News."

The News reports:

The total package that Farley, 62, earned in 2024 included an unchanged base salary of $1.7 million, and stock awards were the same with a slight change in calculated value. The package value's decrease was attributable to a lower bonus from missed company objectives and fewer travel expenses.

The automaker reported the value of Farley's stock awards as $20.6 million, though a fraction of that has vested so far. The total value could differ based on Ford's stock value when those awards vest after a certain amount of time or, for most, the performance metric is met.

The automaker, like GM and others, faces some challenging times including the uncertainty of tariffs and stiff competition in the electric vehicle market with China and Tesla.
