With so many starters missing, many fans expected the Detroit Lions’ defense to get hammered Monday night in their battle against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Ford Field. That didn’t happen.

In fact, the defensive performance was not only impressive but probably the best of the year. The Lions won 24–9.

In his traditional postgame locker room rant, Dan Campbell praised the defense and handed out honorary game balls to linebacker Derrick Barnes, running back Jahmyr Gibbs, and linebacker Jack Campbell.
